“Working with you, Leide, truly made a difference. I felt discouraged and deeply missed my family. I could not concentrate in class and lived in fear of panic attacks. Today, I can say with pride that I completed my Master’s degree. I still do not know how my American journey will unfold or whether I will find a job and secure a visa, but I feel much more prepared to face what comes next.”
— F.C.
Here are some of the areas we may work on together:
• Anxiety and panic
• Stress, burnout, and emotional overload
• Mild to moderate depression
• Self-esteem, perfectionism, and impostor syndrome
• Life transitions and adjustment stress
• Grief and loss
• Immigration-related challenges and cultural adaptation
• Relationships, conflict, and communication
• Sleep difficulties and insomnia
• Organization, time management, and decision-making
Alongside individual clinical work, I also collaborate with organizations, institutions, and international teams, offering psychological insight on stress, resilience, intercultural dynamics, and performance under pressure. Whether I am working one-on-one or in professional settings, I bring the same grounded, thoughtful attention to the person in front of me.

THERAPY FOR ANXIETY AND PANIC
Anxiety can show up as a constant state of tension, a sense of worry that never fully quiets down. Panic attacks, on the other hand, often arrive suddenly and intensely, with physical symptoms such as a racing heart, sweating, or shortness of breath. Anxiety and panic disorders can be frightening and disruptive, but you are not alone—effective anxiety therapy and psychotherapy for panic do exist.
In our work together, you will learn to recognize early warning signs, identify the thought patterns that fuel anxiety, and develop concrete tools to restore a sense of calm and confidence. Within a safe and nonjudgmental space, psychotherapy for anxiety and panic allows you to explore fears and worries at your own pace, with the goal of returning to daily life with greater balance, freedom, and trust in yourself.

THERAPY FOR DEPRESSION
Depression is not just feeling sad. It often shows up as exhaustion, loss of motivation, difficulty concentrating, emotional numbness, or a persistent sense of emptiness. Many people also experience disrupted sleep—insomnia or sleeping too much—and changes in appetite, from loss of interest in food to eating as a way to manage emotional pain. These experiences are common, deeply human, and deserve care rather than judgment.
In therapy, we take time to understand what your depression is communicating. Together, we explore the personal, relational, and situational factors that contribute to your distress, as well as the patterns of thought and emotion that keep it going. This work is not rushed. It is attentive, collaborative, and tailored to you.
I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoanalytic work, and mindfulness-based approaches to help you regain clarity, improve sleep, stabilize mood, and reconnect with a sense of purpose and continuity. Some people come feeling stuck or depleted; others feel disconnected from themselves or overwhelmed by life transitions. Wherever you are, the aim is not only symptom relief, but a deeper restoration of vitality, self-trust, and emotional balance.
Depression can narrow your sense of possibility. Therapy can help widen it again—at a pace that feels respectful, realistic, and humane.

GRIEF THERAPY & PET LOSS THERAPY
A dedicated space—individual or group—to face the loss of a loved person or a beloved animal. Grief can take many forms: sadness, longing, anger, guilt, numbness, or a sense that time has stopped. There is no right way to grieve, and no fixed timeline.
The loss of a pet can be especially painful and often underestimated by others, despite the depth of the bond. For many people, animals are companions, sources of emotional safety, and witnesses to daily life. Their absence can leave a profound sense of emptiness that deserves care and recognition.
In our work together, we make room for the pain, the memories, and the complex emotions that accompany loss—whether human or animal. Therapy offers a place where grief can be spoken, felt, and gradually integrated, rather than carried in isolation. The process does not erase love or memory. Instead, it helps you find a way to hold the loss while continuing to live, relate, and move forward.
Grief therapy is not about “moving on,” but about restoring balance, continuity, and meaning after a profound rupture—at a pace that honors both the bond you have lost and the life that continues.

INSOMNIA & SLEEP DIFFICULTIES
Insomnia is not just about “not sleeping.” It often involves a restless mind, difficulty falling or staying asleep, early awakenings, or the feeling of being exhausted even after a full night in bed. Over time, poor sleep can affect mood, concentration, emotional balance, and overall well-being.
Insomnia can be effectively treated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a structured, evidence-based approach that helps change the thoughts and habits that interfere with sleep. When helpful, this work can be complemented with guided meditations and mindfulness practices, designed to quiet the mind and support the body’s natural capacity to rest.
In our work together, we focus on restoring healthy sleep rhythms, reducing nighttime anxiety, and rebuilding a sense of trust in your ability to fall asleep. The goal is not simply to “get through the night,” but to rediscover the experience of going to sleep with greater calm and ease.
Many of my patients have learned to regulate their sleep without relying on medication, developing tools they can use long term.
If you are struggling with insomnia or disrupted sleep, you are welcome to reach out to discuss a focused and personalized therapeutic approach.

INSECURITY, SHAME & SELF-WORTH
Many experiences of insecurity and shame have deep roots. Others emerge—or intensify—during periods of profound change, such as migration, career transitions, or shifts in identity. Learning a new language, adapting to unfamiliar social rules, or feeling judged for who you are or where you come from can quietly reinforce the sense of “not being enough” or the urge to hide parts of yourself.
In a safe and respectful therapeutic space, we work to recognize these feelings and understand where they come from. Together, we explore how shame takes shape internally and how it affects relationships, choices, and self-expression.
Therapy offers the possibility of transforming shame into awareness and insecurity into a more grounded sense of confidence. The goal is not to eliminate vulnerability, but to help you live with greater freedom, self-respect, and authenticity—whether you are navigating a new cultural environment or long-standing internal struggles.

WORKSHOPS
I offer workshops for groups and organizations focused on well-being, resilience, and cultural awareness. These offerings are developed in response to specific contexts and needs, and are designed to be both practical and reflective, combining psychological insight with lived cultural understanding.
Areas of focus may include:
Resilience and Adaptation. Practical tools for navigating stress, uncertainty, and periods of change in professional or personal contexts, with attention to emotional regulation, meaning, and sustainability over time.
Intercultural Communication and Cultural Fluidity. Exploring how individuals and teams move across cultural, linguistic, and organizational environments, with attention to power, identity, and unspoken norms. These sessions support greater awareness, flexibility, and confidence in cross-cultural and international settings.
Immigration, Identity, and Belonging. Reflective spaces that address transition, displacement, and identity shifts, with relevance for individuals, teams, and institutions working in multicultural or transnational environments.
Grief, Loss, and Meaning-Making. Thoughtful approaches to recognizing and responding to loss—personal or collective—within professional, educational, and organizational settings, with care for both individual experience and group dynamics.
Workshops are developed collaboratively and tailored to the setting, audience, and goals of the organization. Formats may include keynote talks, small-group workshops, or short series.

COACHING
My approach to coaching grows out of the intersection of psychotherapy, anthropology, and lived experience across cultures. It is not simply about “reaching a goal,” but about learning to look at yourself with greater clarity and flexibility. I bring together practical coaching tools, the depth of psychoanalytic thinking, the structure of cognitive-behavioral strategies, and a strong cultural sensibility shaped by years of work with immigrants, expatriates, executives, and professionals navigating complex responsibilities.
Coaching with me is a focused space for reflection and conversation. It helps you identify what is getting in your way, recognize and use your strengths more effectively, and make decisions that are both strategic and aligned with who you are. Many people come to coaching at moments of transition, leadership pressure, cultural relocation, or professional uncertainty, when insight alone is not enough and concrete direction is needed.
This is a practical, time-limited, change-oriented process. It is designed for people who are not seeking long-term psychotherapy, but want targeted support through thoughtful dialogue, clear questions, and actionable steps. The goal is not only performance, but coherence: feeling more grounded, confident, and intentional in both professional and personal life.
Below are some of my academic degrees and professional certifications, displayed in a slightly imperfect order.
