Psychotherapy requires a great deal of investment in money, time, and emotional energy. It involves two people committed to do the work, and, in case of couple or child therapy, more people are involved. This is an investment on your wellbeing. Unlike other commodities that you may buy to feel better and improve your self-image, this has the potential to make a lasting change and give you a better sense of inner satisfaction and completeness. Sometimes, people resort to food, clothes, and other commodities (or seek people in an addictive way) to feel better about themselves and fill the void inside. And yet the void is never filled. Psychotherapy, in the long run, can enable you to become more independent from those addictive feelings and search for objects and people in a freer and more satisfying way. Sessions are 45 minutes long. Depending on your circumstances, you can decide on the intensity of treatment, meeting from once per week to four or five times per week. Once we schedule an appointment, you are responsible for keeping it and are expected to pay for missed sessions. However, if you call 48 hours in advance, it may be possible to reschedule an appointment within the same week—depending on our schedules. My fee can be discussed and adjusted at the time of our consultation. |
