Leide Porcu I am a psychotherapist based in Manhattan, where I work with adults, children and couples. My focus is on fostering individual emotional growth, and I will adapt interventions to fit your specific needs. I hold a New York State license in psychoanalysis and I have completed eight years of training at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR). In addition, I hold a certificate in Cognitive Behavior Therapy from the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, and I am continuously engaged in professional development. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, helping different types of people from varying backgrounds with a wide range of clinical problems. This experience has allowed me to treating depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, eating disorders, communication difficulties and difficulties related to ethnicity, migration, and gender identity, among other things. Furthermore, I have a PhD in anthropology from Columbia University. Formerly a college professor, I continue to organize and present workshops in intercultural communication, and serve as consultant for sociocultural/mental health projects, in addition to my clinical practice. |
